Its reliability and robustness make it an excellent choice for remote environmental applications, including meteorological stations, meso subsystems, wind profiles, air quality monitoring, hydrological systems, water quality monitoring and hydrometeorological stations.

The MG1000X is a low-power device that can measure sensors, drive direct communications and telecommunications, analyze data, control external devices, and store data and programs in on-board nonvolatile memory. The electronic equipment is radio-frequency shielded through a unique sealed stainless steel tank. A battery powered clock ensures accurate timing. All contemporary Campbell Scientific data recorders are common on-board, similar to BASIC programming language, and support data processing and analysis routines.
